Doing Things Differently

It has been almost seven weeks since our province has been on lock-down with COVID-19.

 

Envisage is continuing to provide all the same services to our communities in the Barrie area and in South Georgian Bay. But we are doing things in a different way, to keep everyone healthy and safe.

 

All of our services are now being provided by text, e-mail, phone and video meetings. We are arranging for pregnancy tests and basic needs to be picked up by or delivered to those who need them. We are providing support as people find out they are pregnant, and need a caring place to explore options. We are providing ongoing support, prenatal classes … and even virtual doula support during birth.

 

During the first six weeks of the COVID-19 lock-down, we have provided support in the following ways …

 

  • 30 individuals received ongoing support
  • 14 intakes with new clients
  • 3 pregnancy test to-go kits were provided
  • 15 deliveries of diapers and basic essentials
  • 6 virtual prenatal classes
  • 3 babies born with virtual doula support

 

All the same services – but provided in a different way.

 

And another thing that Envisage will be doing differently this year, is our annual Baby Bottle Fundraising Campaign. Watch this short video to find out more.

 

 

Envisage has been running its spring Baby Bottle campaign since 2006 – Fourteen Years! But this year things need to look a little bit different.  Instead of handing out physical bottles this year, we are asking our supporters to help us care for families by filling the VIRTUAL BABY BOTTLE on our website.

 

This year’s campaign will include Prayer Sheets with a bottle-picture you can fill with colour as you pray … and fun Hope Challenges on social media to help us spread the word that #thereisalwayshope.
