This year, perhaps more than ever, some of us need a little hope.

This song was written a year after my father’s passing.

As we prepared for a second Christmas without him, the reality of a new normal weighed heavier on my heart than the first year without him.

Somehow, it seems fitting to share this year, as we all face a second Christmas in a pandemic.

This is not a “produced” song. It’s just a simple longing of my heart, sung into my iphone on a day in December.

Whether you can relate to the emotions that come with loss or if you are just in need of some hope, I pray that the words will bless you.

CHRISTMAS HOPE SONG

By Kathy Pedersen – November 2019

Hanging decorations on the Christmas tree – and wiping tears away

Setting places at the table – there’s and empty chair – makes my heart ache

So I’m holding on to Christmas Hope that’s true

Every Christmas light is a reminder – That the Light of the World will come again

And He will set a table before us – Where pain and death and sorrow have an end

The Best Christmas is coming – When Jesus comes again.

Wrapping Christmas presents – and there’s one less gift to place under the tree

One less stocking to be hung – my heart cries – this is not how it should be

So I’m holding on to Christmas Hope that’s true

Every Christmas light is a reminder – That the Light of the World will come again

And He will set a table before us – Where pain and death and sorrow have an end

The Best Christmas is coming – When Jesus comes again.

God has a gift for you and me – Heaven paid for on a tree

To give us hope beyond what’s broken here

No more darkness – No more night  …  All the wrong will be made right

And God will wipe away our every tear

There’ll be no tears at Christmas – When Jesus comes again.
